What is Teeth Whitening?

When your teeth are dull and yellow, you may feel insecure about the way that you look. You might even avoid laughing or smiling when meeting or talking to other people. Rather than feel badly about your smile, it’s time to do something about it using our Zoom! whitening system. Zoom! is an in-office treatment that enables you to leave with a smile that is shades whiter and brighter often in less that a couple hour hour visit.

Why is Teeth Whitening needed?

Teeth naturally have an off-white color, but you might find that your teeth are yellowed, dulled and stained because of age, medications you may be taking, smoking or drinking a lot of coffee. While you may not be willing to give up your morning cup of coffee, Zoom! whitening can help in lightening the stains and dissolving any discoloration. The results are dramatic and can last for a long time with the proper maintenance.

Who’s a candidate for Teeth Whitening?

In order to qualify for Zoom! whitening, your smile should be healthy and free of needing other dental procedures. We can examine your teeth to determine if other treatment is needed prior to Zoom! whitening.

What happens during the Teeth Whitening process?

The process to whiten your teeth begins with covering and protecting the gums with a temporary, thin, plastic-like coating. We often use oral appliances and cotton rounds to help us achieve this. We then apply a layer of whitening gel to the teeth and use a bright Zoom! light to accelerate the results. After about 15-20 minutes, the gel is removed and replaced with a new layer. The light is replaced over the teeth and another two or three 15-20 minute sessions. You will experience an improved difference in the shade of your teeth before whitening to how it looks after Zoom! treatment.
