TMJ Therapy
What is TMJ Therapy?
TMJ, the temporomandibular joint, is responsible for the easy opening and closing of the lower jaw. When this joint experiences issues, you may develop constant migraines, pain, swelling and even bruxism (tooth grinding). We offer an array of TMJ therapies and treatments to ease your suffering. We work with you to find the therapy that is right for your specific problem.
WHY IS TMJ THERAPY NEEDED?
There are many signs to look for that can indicate a TMJ problem. For example, your jaw might pop, click, or grind when you open it fully. You may not even be able to open the jaw completely without experiencing pain or stiffness. It’s not unusual to experience pain and discomfort when dealing with TMJ problems. Over time, the pain can get worse and the problems can become extensive.
WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR TMJ THERAPY?
To determine if you have an issue with your TMJ, we can examine the jaw and listen for any abnormalities. Therapy can help when it comes to providing you with the care that you need.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING
TMJ THERAPY?
There are a range of different therapies that can help to relieve TMJ pain and discomfort. We may suggest an occlusal guard (night guard), especially if your TMJ pain is associated with clenching and grinding, crunching, or nighttime bruxism.
